Stannah driver wins national fleet award
Stannah, a family-run global business and leader in stairlifts and commercial lifts, is proud to announce that Pete Farrow, a lift engineer based at its Bristol branch, has been awarded Fleet Service GB’s Driver of the Year. The award recognises his exceptional commitment to safe and responsible driving and celebrates his outstanding performance among more than 10,000 drivers in the Fleet Service GB driver management programme.
Pete, who joined Stannah in September last year, has consistently achieved one of the highest Driver Scores across the national scheme, with top rankings in training, vehicle checks, telematics and risk management. Importantly, he has completed every task on time, maintained a flawless safety record, and demonstrated an exceptional commitment to keeping himself and others safe on the road.
The Fleet Service GB judging panel commended Pete for his “consistent, exceptional performance” and were struck by his manager’s endorsement, which noted, “They understand that the most important part of the day is the point where they step back through their front door safe and sound after the day’s work is completed.”
Speaking about the award, Pete said, “I am honoured to be named Driver of the Year. For me, safety always comes first. Every journey is about looking after myself, my passengers and everyone else on the road, and ensuring I get home safe at the end of the day.”
Denise Hawkins, Stannah’s Fleet Manager, added, “Peter has shown what it means to be a responsible driver. His Driver Score has been outstanding, and his commitment to safety has set a standard for others to follow. We are proud to see him recognised on a national stage.”
This recognition underlines Stannah’s ongoing commitment to being a responsible business, placing safety at its core, and uplifting employees who demonstrate excellence. Alongside Peter, two other Stannah drivers, Dean Barrett and Wayne Winter, were also in contention for this year’s award, reflecting the high standards maintained across the company’s fleet.
