Stannah submits plans for second phase of development at Andover Business Park

Stannah, a global leader in stairlifts and commercial lifts, has announced plans for further development at Andover Business Park. Plans for the second phase of expansion have been submitted, marking a substantial milestone in the company’s continued growth.

The proposed development encompasses a 136,100 sq ft unit, strategically located on a ca.10 acre plot to the north of Andover Business Park completing the frontage along Pioneer Road. The contemporary design of the new unit will seamlessly integrate with Stannah’s recently completed 90,000 sq ft factory, creating a unified campus.

Stannah is committed to environmentally sustainable practices, and this new building reflects that dedication. It will be built to BREEAM standards and incorporate a range of eco-friendly features, including solar panels, LED lighting, rainwater harvesting and air source heat pumps. Furthermore, the development will feature cycle storage facilities and provisions for future electric vehicle (EV) charging points.

The facility will also include three levels of office accommodation, new access arrangements, landscaping, service yard, and parking facilities.

This expansion aligns with Stannah’s long-term strategy for growth, reinforcing Andover as its primary UK manufacturing location, where it has been based since 1974.

Jon Stannah, Group Managing Director, commented “The additional space will support our global expansion, allowing even more Andover-made stairlifts to be exported around the globe.”

Edward Peel, Director at Stoford, said: “We are excited to put forward plans for the second phase of development of Stannah’s new campus at Andover Business Park. We’ve already worked in partnership to successfully deliver a high quality, sustainable unit as part of phase one and are excited by the potential to develop a new unit on the adjacent plot. It will not only support Stannah’s future growth but sustain valuable manufacturing jobs in Andover.”
