Stannah Passenger Lifts support local Charity

Our Stannah Passenger Lift division had the honour to supply and install a 33-person passenger lift at the Countess of Brecknock Hospice in Stannah’s home town of Andover, Hampshire.

The hospice is a palliative care facility, dear to many Stannah employees as it has given care to so many loved ones. With such strong ties to the charity, the Stannah Group decided to help by funding a significant proportion of the new lift installation in support of the hospice’s multi-million-pound fundraising appeal.

The hospice is located within Andover War Memorial Hospital and first opened its doors in 1990. A Stannah lift already operates in the main facility and, when a brand-new extension was created in 2019 to increase hospice’s care capability, Stannah was again the preferred supplier to install the second lift.

The new Stannah passenger lift is central to delivering full accessibility in the much-needed new extension. And a delighted client, Michele Gard, Director of the Hospice Charitable Trust, comments:

“Stannah and its employees have been generous supporters of the hospice throughout its 30-year history. They provided the lift in the original building and now the new Stannah lift in our new hospice extension will ensure patients can be easily and comfortably transported between floors. We are so grateful for the support of Stannah – a local company helping the Countess of Brecknock Hospice to provide care for local people.”

The new elevator provides safe and efficient movement of people of all mobility levels, patients, staff, visitors as well as medical equipment and beds, between the two floors of the facility.

The South West England and Southern England branch will take care of any maintenance and repair needs, offering 12 service visits in the first year.

The Stannah Group and its employees are delighted to continue the tradition of helping to support this respected local hospice.
