Hampshire Mobility Services Awarded Certificate of Excellence
Hampshire Mobility Services was today awarded the Certificate of Excellence by Stannah, in the presence of Romsey’s Town Mayor, Town Centre Manager, and the Chamber of Commerce. Also present were local authority representatives including individuals from Hampshire County Council, Test Valley Borough Council, and Eastleigh Borough Council, for whom Hampshire Mobility Services installs stairlifts.
The Certificate of Excellence is awarded to authorised Stannah stairlift dealers, of which Hampshire Mobility Services is one of a select few, who meet the strict criteria.
Caroline Munday, Dealer Manager for Stannah, said ‘All Stannah dealers demonstrate an ethical business manner, a customer-focused approach, and have completed the Stannah installation and service training which we have now enhanced to include the Certificate of Excellence standard. Kevin and his team have shown this over the past five years as a local Stannah dealer and their approach has helped us to build a longstanding relationship, which offers a first-class, reliable, local service.’
Brian Cook, Worldwide Technical Support Manager at Stannah, oversees the Certificate of Excellent process. He added ‘This is an advanced assessment programme covering the correct installation process, fault finding and planned maintenance of both straight and curved stairlifts to ensure all Stannah stairlifts that Hampshire Mobility Services install and maintain are done so to the same standard that our own engineers adhere to. The engineering and support teams at Hampshire Mobility Services are also vetted to ensure the installers use the correct tooling, product traceability of the equipment is maintained, and that safety for the user is paramount throughout the whole process.’
Hampshire Mobility Services, which operates from the company’s large town-centre mobility shop in Romsey, has grown significantly in the last few years. With the move to the larger premises in 2016, this now means that a broader choice of equipment is on display, enabling customers to see the range of working Stannah stairlifts as well as try a full variety of rise and recline chairs, wheelchairs, and walking aids.
Kevin Fry, Managing Director, said ‘Our investment in the move to the larger shop instead of an industrial unit out of the town centre has been the correct move forward for the business. Our client base is expanding daily and the ability to walk into our shop and try all the equipment that is on offer helps clients and their families to see all the equipment available to maintain and independent life, which is very important to us. As an independent family business, having this range enables us to provide the right help and service cover in a local, convenient way.’
Kevin and his team are also celebrating being one of a small list of approved contractors for both Southampton and Portsmouth City Councils. This three-year contract is to provide and install stairlifts, hoists and other lifting equipment throughout both cities and surrounding areas. Kevin added ‘This contract win means business security for the forthcoming years and continued investment into the business, as well as the local employment required to maintain not only the levels of work that this will bring in, but also the existing contracts we already hold. Our business plan when we started five years ago was to be able to grow and sustain a reputable business based on quality of products and the service we provide. We will now continue to look ahead to ensure we maintain this for the next five years and beyond.’
