With a strong EDI policy in place and a Gender Equality Network (GEN), Stannah is putting in the work to ensure that it offers a diverse and inclusive workplace that encourages people to be themselves and feel comfortable, supported and valued.
Helen Stirrup, Group Sustainability Manager, said, “Everyone, including our customers, employees, and the general public, has the right to be treated with dignity and respect in the workplace, in public and at home.
“To reflect the changing needs of our workforce we set up the Gender Equality Network. It is made up of employees from across the business who explore how we can champion positive change in gender equality in our businesses.”
During a recent GEN meeting, one if its members, Jana Haraksimova suggested a new upholstery for the stairlift located in the Stannah HQ reception. The decision to create a pride upholstery was unanimously agreed and collaboration across the Stannah Group businesses and departments made it possible for it to be created in a short time frame.
Jana Haraksimova, Design Technician at GUS said, “I’m proud to work for company who supports the LGBTQIA+ community and Pride month. I am delighted by the show of support among the staff and the awareness around the meaning of Pride the creation of this upholstery has created.”
