The Russian invasion of Ukraine is an unthinkable tragedy, with millions already displaced and millions of others left to face the terror and harrowing hardships of war.
President Putin’s actions have rightly been condemned across the world and the Stannah family add their voices to the chorus calling for an immediate ceasefire and diplomatic resolution.
It is vital we stand up for democracy and so we stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine. We are therefore taking the following actions:
- making a corporate donation of £45,000 to the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal run by Disaster Emergency Committee (DEC), equivalent to £20 per employee
- through an additional £20,000 match-funding scheme encouraging employees across our international group to donate to key humanitarian charities
- offering paid time off for employees volunteering for causes involved in the relief effort
- reviewing our manufacturing supply chain. We have established that we do not have any first or second tier suppliers in Russia or Belarus, nor do we distribute products to either country.
It is our hope that by providing early funding, relief agencies will have the resources to make bold strategic decisions that will provide a solid framework for humanitarian support however long this war may endure.
Our thoughts are with the brave Ukrainians who have already shown so much courage and fortitude in the face of such an unimaginable situation.
