Stannah partner with SulNOx in emissions reduction trial
Andover, 1 September 2021 – Stannah, the UK’s largest independent lift business and world-renowned stairlift manufacturer, has embarked upon an important trial to reduce emissions from its corporate fleet. The company has partnered with SulNOx, the hydrocarbon fuel emulsification specialists, to trial the SulNOxEco™ Fuel Conditioner in 40 vehicles based at its South West England & South Wales branch.
SulNOxEco™ Fuel Conditioner emulsifies hydrocarbon fuels to ensure more efficient combustion, reducing harmful particulate matter, NOx gases, soot, carbon and other air pollutants.
The trial has been launched with a view to extending the programme to all 700 vehicles in the Stannah fleet.
Jon Stannah, Group Managing Director, said of the trial, “As a 154-year-old family business, sustainability is something we care passionately about. We know that sustainability is not a one-time fix; it is about urgent and constant efforts to lessen our environmental impact. We are delighted to be trialling the SulNOx product, which could pave the way for a rapid and significant reduction in our fleet emissions.”
Ben Richardson, the CEO of SulNOx, commented, “We are very pleased to be partnering with Stannah and helping them tackle one of their biggest sustainability priorities. SulNOxEco™ Fuel Conditioner is already proven by our large haulage users to save money on reduced fuel and maintenance bills whilst simultaneously cutting emissions dramatically. By using SulNOx in the Stannah van and car fleets, we will be further demonstrating the versatility of our green technologies.”
With the potential to reduce particulate matter by 50-60%, and both carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide by around 30% from using the SulNOxEco™ Fuel Conditioner, Martin Carter, Group Information Systems Director at Stannah, adds, “We have already made great strides in reducing carbon emissions from our fleet through telematics, improved driver behaviour and ongoing driver training. Together this has delivered an annual reduction in vehicle emissions of over 150,000kg. SulNOx is an innovative yet simple product that could help us make yet another step change in reducing our impact on the environment.”
