Stannah joins the debate
Our Economy – The South Today Debate pulled together a wide cross section of society to discuss the state of the economy across the southern region.
Aired on Monday 19th March 2012 on BBC1 and hosted by South Today’s Sally Taylor the debate touched on both the personal effects of the current economic crisis and the challenges business are facing.
As a representative of the manufacturing sector Nick Stannah, group director, of Stannah Group spoke about how, despite the tough climate, Stannah is continuing to grow thanks to ageing demographics, growing exports, dedicated staff, and continued investment and innovation. Nick also explained that apprenticeships are crucial to building expertise within the business.
With contributions from Labour peer, Lord Knight of Weymouth, Geoff French, Chair of Enterprise M3, and a number of entrepreneurs, apprentices and the general public, the debate helped create a snapshot of the health of local economy.
